Erosion Control on Hwy 30

DAVENPORT (KWWL) -  The Iowa Department of Transportation (DOT)'s Davenport construction office says preparation is underway to enhance the roadside and control soil erosion with a revetment project on U.S. 30 in Clinton County.

The project is scheduled from Aug. 3 to the end of October, weather permitting, west of Calamus at the east channel of the Wapsipinicon River. This roadside work may cause brief, intermittent lane closures with a 12-foot lane width restriction in place during closures.

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations can more than double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles and wear seat belts.
