Two teens arrested for Cedar Rapids arson

CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) - Two teenagers have been arrested for intentionally setting a fire inside the house at 795 Shaver Road NE on June 10th. Firefighters were called to the home around 5 p.m. on June 10th and found fire on the second floor of the structure. The house was previously damaged by last summer's flood and was vacant at the time of the fire.

Derek Siddell, age 14, and Cameron Odeen, age 15, have been charged with Arson - 2nd Degree, which is a Class "C" felony. Cedar Rapids Fire investigators say the juveniles poured gasoline on mattresses and box springs to ignite the blaze in an upstairs bedroom.

The property is owned by Georgia Glaus.
