VINTON (KWWL) - Vinton Police this week filed criminal charges against 27 year-old Christopher Daniel Taylor, of Cedar Rapids, in connection with the July 5 alleged robbery of John's Qwik Stop in Vinton.

Taylor was arrested late Thursday on Benton County warrants by officers of the Cedar Rapids Police Department. Taylor was on probation with the Iowa Department of Corrections at the time the incident occurred.

Taylor has been charged with Burglary in the 2nd Degree and Theft in the 2nd Degree.

Police say Taylor is an acquaintance of the convenience store clerk who was working at the time of the alleged incident.  Police say their investigation has revealed that Taylor and the clerk collaborated with each other, and that the incident was staged to appear to be a Robbery.
