Infrastructure workshop to be held in New Hartford

NEW HARTFORD (KWWL) - New Hartford will soon host a series of workshops to find environmentally friendly and sustainable ways to manage storm water runoff.  The workshops will be held by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Smart Growth Implementation Assistance program and will provide technical assistance to city officials and others to plan improvements regarding storm water management.  The goal is to prevent flooding from heavy rains.  It does not affect flooding from high river levels.  The workshop will be held July 16-17 from 6 p.m.-7:30 p.m. at the Community Building on York and Broadway Streets.  Cedar Falls, Cedar Rapids, Coralville, and Iowa City are also being helped by the EPA's SGIA program.
