Large fight ends in stabbing

WATERLOO (KWWL) - Just before 9 Wednesday night, Waterloo Police were called to the 200 block of Palmer Drive for a large fight.

Roughly 50 young people were reportedly fighting in the area. Witnesses say fighters were using bats, crow bars, and bleach.
Police say one man was stabbed. He was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. A number of young people were charged with disorderly conduct.

The last large fight in Waterloo was at the Exchange Park back in April. Witnesses say two groups of teens were in a fight when it escalated. 18-year-old Kevin Garcia died from a stabbing. Two others were taken to the hospital.

21-year-old Wyatt Johnson is charged with first degree murder and two counts of willful injury. He's now in the Black Hawk County Jail.

Police don't believe the fights are related.
