Real Estate Sales Slightly Lower in Black Hawk County



While real estate sales in Black Hawk County dropped by 14 per cent in June, 2009, compared to June 2008, sales declined only 2 per cent over the entire the second quarter of 2009. Bob Reisinger of The Black Hawk County Board of Realtors released the latest new real estate sales numbers, which show sales prices are only slightly lower than a year ago.

There were 216 sales in June, 2009, compared to 251 in June, 2008. Like the number of sales, the average sales price also dropped by 14-per cent in June. Prices dropped an average of $ 22,329, compared to a year ago.

But, the second quarter, overall, was not bad. For the second quarter, the average sales price declined an average of just $3,764, or a little less than 3 per cent.

Reisinger says total residential listings were slightly higher in June, but down ten per cent for the second quarter. Residential listings are on the market a little more than seventy days, compared to 81 days in the second quarter of 2008.
