A crying baby who simply cannot be calmed down can be a huge stress on the family.
Now new research links colicky babies to depression in new fathers.
In a study of 7-thousand families, dads who were depressed during their partners' pregnancy were nearly twice as likely to report excessive crying in their 2-month-old babies than dads who were not depressed.
Similar risks have been found among mothers who were depressed during pregnancy.
