Hermsen has successful debut


FORT MYERS, FL-  Wednesday night former West Delaware star B.J. Hermsen made his professional baseball debut one to remember.  The 6'6" right-hander tossed six perfect innings for the Gulf Coast League Twins.  Hermsen retired all 15 batters he faced, 3 via the strikeout and 12 with groundouts.  It was all part of a combined no-hitter for the GCL Twins.

Hermsen was a 6th round pick of the Minnesota Twins in the 2008 MLB draft.  He chose to turn pro foregoing a college scholarship to play at Oregon St.  He plays for manager Jake Mauer, the older brother of Twins star catcher Joe Mauer.
