Police make arrest in drive-by shooting


WATERLOO (KWWL) -- Police have arrested a suspect in a drive-by shooting that sent one teenager to the hospital.

Just before 1 a.m.on Monday, police responded to West 5th and Washington Streets after a 16-year-old girl was shot in the leg. The victim was taken to the hospital, treated and released.

Police say the victim was on West 7th Street when there was a fight between the suspect and another group of people. Police say the suspect displayed a gun and threatened the group of people.

Soon after, the suspect drove past the area of West 5th and Washington Streets and fired a single shot, hitting the victim.

31-year-old Mark Anthony Kidd turned himself in at the Black Hawk County Sheriff's Office where he was charged with willful injury, intimidation with a dangerous weapon and possession of weapons by a felon. Kidd remains in custody and bond was set at $375,000.
