Bucks squander lead at home

GREEN BAY RALLIES PAST BUCKSWATERLOO - One of the largest crowds to attend a 2009 Northwoods League game at historic Riverfront Stadium got its money's worth Saturday night.

The home-standing Waterloo Bucks (7-16) used another strong start from left-hander Rick Dodridge (Central Michigan) but succumbed to a four-run Green Bay rally over the eighth and ninth innings in a 5-2 loss. The Bullfrogs (10-12) received a key three-run home run from second baseman Riley Henricks (Creighton) to turn around a 2-1 deficit in the top of the eighth. Dodridge fired seven and two-thirds innings and allowed just one walk with four strikeouts before the eighth inning rally.

Waterloo's offense was topped by shortstop Michael Giller (Illinois) and left fielder Phil Keppler (Iowa). The pair each had a hit and RBI.

Waterloo resumes its home stand with a 3:05 p.m. first pitch against the Bullfrogs Sunday. It's another edition of Casey's General Store' Family Fun Day, and Lincoln Savings Bank is also a co-sponsor of the Father's Day matinee. Fans should come ready to play LSB's "Let's Make A Deal" and win cash and prizes. Fathers and their children have a special outing ahead, as the Bucks invite them to play catch in the outfield after the game. The Mediacom Family Plan resumes with four tickets, four hot dogs, four popcorns, four fountain sodas and a souvenir program available for thirty dollars.
