Poll: Many Americans fear growing health costs

WASHINGTON (KWWL) - A new poll finds considerable concern about health care costs -- with nearly half of all Americans worried about paying for future care.

Almost one in four people in the survey by the University of Michigan fear losing coverage in the next year.

About the same number said they or a family member delayed seeing a doctor because of apprehension over costs in the past year.

The survey comes as lawmakers in Washington consider overhauling the nation's health care system.

The poll was financed by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, a health care philanthropy.
