Police find body outside Wis. Capitol

MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Police found a dead man outside the state Capitol on Tuesday.

The state Department of Administrative Services issued a statement saying the death does not appear to be suspicious.

Capitol police found the person on the Capitol square at the corner of Main and King streets around 7 a.m. Tuesday. Police had the area taped off about an hour later while a groundskeeper sprayed a bench and the ground surrounding it with water.

The dead man's name was not being released pending notification of his relatives. He was described as an African American in his late 30s.

An investigation is ongoing.
