Auditioning to be a Nickelodeon star

DUBUQUE (KWWL) -- Teenagers in the Tri-States are trying to be a star.  Sunday, at the Grand Opera House in Dubuque, more than a dozen teenage boys stepped in front of the camera to audition to get a spot in a Nickelodeon show to create a new boy band.

Nickelodeon says its looking for a group of four teenage boys to star in a new series about a group of friends from the midwest who get discovered by a hollywood music producer.

"I figured you should audition for everything even if it's a long show, and you know, who knows what'll happen from it. Maybe something good. If not, it's just really good experience," said Sam Hawkins.

Along with the series, Nickelodeon says the group will also be a real boy band recording with sony B.M.G.

The group is still accepting video auditions.  Call the Grand Opera House for submission details.
