Iowa corn growers host Ethanol pump promotions for Iowa Corn Indy 250

JOHNSTON, Iowa - June 11, 2009 - The Iowa Corn Promotion Board (ICPB) will  promote ethanol and the upcoming Iowa Corn Indy 250 race at two gas stations in the Des Moines and Newton area.

Consumers who attend these ethanol promotions can fill up their gas tanks with discounted ethanol or will be able to register for free ethanol. Other special prizes, including the chance to win a ride in an Indy car or tickets to Iowa Corn Indy 250, will be awarded. 

"We want consumers to celebrate with ethanol promotions prior to the Iowa Corn Indy 250. The race will be at the Iowa Speedway on Sunday, June 21," says Shannon Textor, Iowa Corn marketing director. "We're proud that 100 percent of locally produced Iowa ethanol is used in the race. We want all consumers to recognize the advantages of using corn ethanol."

Casey's General Store, 6630 Mills Civic Parkway, West Des Moines from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Customers will benefit from discounted E10 and can register for $250 of free ethanol. The Iowa Speedway pace car will be on hand as well as an Indy car simulator.  KIOA radio will broadcast during this promotion.

Prairie Gas, 4300 S. 22nd Avenue E, Newton from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Customers can fill up with discounted E10 or E85, thanks to Pioneer. They can register for $250 worth of free ethanol, t-shirts and more. KXNO radio will broadcast during this promotion.
