Loras grads walk across country for prayer

DUBUQUE (KWWL) -- Perfect weather to be outside through out Eastern Iowa Tuesday. Which made it a perfect day for a pair of walkers to make a stop in Dubuque.

23 year old Jesse Weiler and 24 year old Jon Leonetti, both Loras alumni, are walking across the country to raise awareness about prayer. They're calling the journey "souly walking." They walk an average of 40 miles a day, stopping in various towns along the way. The two men started their journey on March 1st, after a year of planning and fundraising.

"We knew that we needed to get a map and we needed a cause and we decided 'what's a need out there right now? What's a world need and we decided it was gonna be prayer," said Leonetti.

"We're doing it to meet the people and bring our message to the people. It's really amazing the experiences that we have," said Weiler.

The two will complete their walk on August 2nd in Ocean City, New Jersey. When they're all finished they will have walks 3,562 Miles.
