Train derails in SE Iowa

CHILLICOTHE (AP)--Officials say the tracks have reopened but cleanup continues after a freight train derailed near Chillicothe in southeast Iowa last weekend.

The Wapello County sheriff's office says the back of a BNSF Railway train derailed at 2:15 a.m. Saturday.

BNSF spokesman Steve Forsberg says the train had 122 cars, and 16 derailed. They were carrying coal.

No injuries were reported.

The tracks reopened Sunday afternoon. Forsberg said Monday that he expected to derailed cars to be cleaned up within the next few days.
