WATERLOO (KWWL) "We bring the boats up from Cedar Rapids. We have two boats. We have 14 teams out this year," said Dragon Boat Race Co-Chair Mike Reyhons.

Each boat holds 20 people. There are 18 paddlers, a stearnsman and a drummer. The teams came from across Iowa including Dubuque, Fort Dodge and Burlington.

"We came here Saturday for practice. I don't think I've ever been more tired in my entire life," said UNI students and first time participant Benji Dolly.

"It's very hard. You get very tired quick!" said Mike Reyhons.

"I don't have anything up my sleeve. My strategy is think like I'm not doing it. The more thinking I do obviously the more tired I'll be. I'm gonna look at my partner. So if they're still going I'll still be going," said Dolly.

"It's like a motor. You're one individual part of a motor and there's 18 cylinders. It's all about timing," said John Andries from Burlington.
