Cough medicine confusion

WATERLOO (KWWL) - Another new study says parents are still having problems understanding if cough and cold medicines are safe for young children.

The American Academy of Pediatrics found parents are giving over the counter cough and cold medicines to children under three.

A year ago, the FDA said it was too risky for children under four years old to be given those medicines. Researchers suggest product packaging be re-designed with graphics and instructions that make it clear parents talk to their doctor before giving these drugs.
