Free furniture for flood affected families

Posted:

CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -- The Linn County Area Long Term Recovery Coalition will be giving away donated furniture to flood affected families on Saturday.

The boxed furniture will need to be assembled. Also, organizers recommend bringing a pick-up truck to transport the furniture because the boxes are large.

There is a limit of two for the following items, while supplies last: captain bed, console/sofa table, desktop hutch, headboard, utility stand/end table.

Any wanting to receive furniture will need to bring any form that includes a FEMA number as proof of need. You cannot pick up an item for someone else.

The giveaway will go from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday at the Science Station on 1st Street SE.
