DES MOINES (AP)--Des Moines police are investigating a home invasion where the intruders beat a man with a toilet plunger.
Kyle Parker told police a man beat him repeatedly with the plunger after the man and three others forced their way into Parker's apartment Saturday night.
Parker told police he locked himself in the bathroom while the man smashed items in the apartment and tried to kick open the door. When it was quiet, Parker went to get a neighbor, but ran into the man with the plunger. The man hit Parker again before he took off.
Police arrived a short time later. Parker suffered minor injuries.
Several items were stolen, including a cell phone, stereo and social security check.
