Former Coe Star Gets contract Extension with the NFL Bills

Posted:

Buffalo Bills backup running back Fred Jackson has agreed to a contract extension.

The deal was reached Wednesday, and rewards Jackson for providing Buffalo's run game a valuable one-two punch along with starter Marshawn Lynch.

An undrafted free agent from Coe College, Jackson had 888 yards from scrimmage -- including 571 yards rushing -- with three touchdowns in 16 games last season, his second in the NFL.

He'll compete with Dominic Rhodes to start this season in place of Lynch, who'll miss the first three games while serving an NFL suspension.
