OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. - Amber Flores hit a solo homer in the first inning and Oklahoma added two more in the third to defeat Iowa State, 3-0, Saturday afternoon at the Big 12 Championships at the ASA Hall of Fame Stadium.

With the loss, the Cyclones end their season with a 26-29 record overall. Oklahoma improves to 39-13 and will face Baylor this evening at 7:30 p.m.

D.J. Mathis (17-4) held the Cyclones to two hits while striking out five in four innings of work. Kirsten Allen picked up the save for OU, allowing three hits in three innings of relief.

The Cyclones outhit the Sooners, five to four, in the game. Rachel Zabriskie (18-24) allowed just four hits in the contest while striking out four. Zabriskie's 18 wins ties her for fourth all-time on the Iowa State single-season charts.

The Sooners put a run on the board in the first and two more in the third to hold a 3-0 edge heading to the fourth inning.

Flores, the Big 12 Player of the Year, got the Sooners on the board in the first with a solo shot, her 16th homer of the season. OU tacked on two more in the third on a single by Katie Norris that popped out of the glove of a diving Kelsey Kidwell, allowing Flores and Dani Dobbs to score.

The Cyclones had an opportunity in the sixth with runners on first and second and Alex Johnson at the plate but Kelsey Kidwell was caught in a run down and tagged out trying to advance to third. The pitch was in the dirt but OU catcher Lindsay Vandever was able to block it and throw down to third, leading to the eventual rundown and third out of the inning.

Amanda Bradberry led the Cyclones going 2-for-3 in the game. In the tournament, Bradberry went 4-for-6 with a double and a home run. Sydni Jones and Heidi Kidwell joined senior Jacquelyn Beatty in the hit column for the Cyclones as well.

Flores finished 2-for-2 with two runs scored and a run batted in to pace the Sooners at the plate.
