Iowa soldier laid to rest

HARTLEY (KWWL) -- Friends and family said their final goodbyes Saturday at the funeral for an Iowa soldier killed in Iraq.  28-year old Army Sergeant Leroy Webster of Hartley was killed one week ago Saturday while on patrol near Kirkuk, Iraq.

Funeral services were held Saturday in Webster's hometown of Hartley.  Webster served in five deployments around the country and in the Middle East.

"When you ask what type of a soldier he was, he was one of our heros.  He loved being a dad, he loved his girls," said Major General Abraham Turner, Chief of Staff United States Strategic Command.

"You always want those people that bring a smile to their work, and he definitely was one of those people," said Sergeant Kyle Miller, Bravo Battery 194th.
