Panther pickup program begins

CEDAR FALLS (KWWL) -- "A new life for your old stuff" -- that's the motto for UNI's new Panther Pickup program.

Off-campus students moving out of apartments in the College Hill neighborhood in Cedar Falls have the opportunity Thursday and Friday to donate furniture, clothes, shoes, dishes, books and other household items to local charities.

A project to help the environment while benefiting the community, it is being launched by the University of Northern Iowa, and several partner agencies.

Students moving from the residence halls will be able to take items to one of five on-campus sites where St. Vincent De Paul, Goodwill, and the Salvation Army will have trucks -- that's next Wednesday through Friday from 1 to 4 p.m.
