CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) - Police have released new details about a shooting that happened Wednesday afternoon.

The victim has been identified as 50-year-old Delores Smith.  Police are currently looking into why the shooting happened and what relationship Smith has to the shooter.

Police also now say Smith did not drive herself to the hospital as previously reported.  Thursday police said she was driven to St. Lukes hospital.
As a standard safety procedure, St. Luke's Women and Children's Center and the main hospital went into lockdown, meaning all doors were locked from public entry.

Smith was flown to the University of Iowa Hospitals.  Her condition has not been released.

The Cedar Rapids Police Department is still interviewing witnesses and gathering evidence, but say they are looking for a black male in a black hoody and jeans.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-CR-CRIME.
