Teens see results of sun damage

BOSTON (NBC) -- Too much sun exposure can leave a lasting impression on your face, and the damage remains even after the burn has peeled away.
Researchers from Boston university took UV photographs of pre-teens' faces. The photos showed pigment changes that had occurred in their faces from chronic sun exposure.

Compared with a control group, pre-teens who saw their faces after UV exposure were less likely to become sunburned six months later.

Researchers say giving impressionable young teens an immediate picture of sun damage appears to be a good way to inspire them to use sun protection.
