Kernels Stay Perfect at Vets in 2009

The Cedar Rapids Kernels snapped a three game losing streak  with a 6-3 win over the Clinton LumberKings on Tuesday night.

The Kernels continue to be a perfect 4-0 at home


The Kernels offense had a big night, pounding out 12 hits. Alexi Amarista was 2 for 3 with a double and 2 RBI and Gabe Jacobo was 1 for 3 with a triple and 2 RBI.
 
Kernels starter Michael Davitt (1-0) allowed three runs on seven hits and struck out five over six innings for the win. Kevin Nabors pitched two scoreless innings of relief and Vladimir Veras retired Clinton in order in the ninth for his second save of the season.
 

The Kernels improve to 7-4 and are one game back of Kane County in the MWL West. Clinton falls to 7-3.
