"Scrap for Soul" to raise money for area school

by Danielle Wagner

WATERLOO (KWWL) Many area schools are facing tough decisions when it comes to budgets.

Immanuel Lutheran School in Waterloo is no different.

The school decided to "think outside the box" and develop a unique way to hopefully raise some money to help keep the kindergarten through eighth grade school operational.

A-Line Iron and Metals and the Board of Education organized "Scrap for Soul" to raise money.

Kyle Stone with A-Line donated his equipment and people to help with the fundraiser.

Volunteers accepted scrap metal and appliances, which will be turned in for money. All the proceeds go back to Immanuel Lutheran School.

The school plans to turn the fundraiser into a monthly event.
