Union High Principal Honored for Military Service

I was invited to a special assembly today at Union High School in La Porte City for principal Travis Fleshner.

The student body--faculty --administration and his family suprised Fleshner with a ceremony honoring the retiring Army Reserve first sergeant and leader of 322 Company B of Decorah.

Fleshner is retiring after 20 years ---in the Army Reserve which saw him do a tour of duty in Iraq...a former football star at North Fayette High School --Fleshner says he is appeciative of Union Community.

    The seventh ranked Iowa wrestlers didn't take a single loss on the mat. Iowa took down Iowa State 35-6 with the only loss being a result of a forfeit at 197 pounds. Spencer Lee (125) and Alex Marinelli (165) registered Iowa's two pins in the match, both came in less than a minutes.
