Kick Off Kids Clinic: learning to play football from the UNI Panthers

CEDAR FALLS (KWWL) -- It's far from football season, but the Panthers took the field Saturday in the UNI-Dome.

The University of Northern Iowa Football team held its annual Kick Off Kids Clinic in Cedar Falls Saturday.  The team invited second through eighth graders onto the field for free instruction in football fundamentals.  The two-hour event is as much about learning technique as it is about having fun..

"I hope they continue to do it for a long time to come. I think Coach Farley is marketing the program positively. I know there were some people from Iowa City who even came up and they wish the University of Iowa and other programs would do the same think to get the kids involved with the players," said parent Terry Rex from Oelwein.

Everyone taking part in the event will get to see the Panthers in action.  They get a free ticket to next season's home game against Saint Francis on September 19.
