College Square Community Day features local non-profit groups

CEDAR FALLS (KWWL) More than 20 community groups and non-profit organizations will share information about their supportive good works at College Square Mall's annual Spring Community Day, Saturday, April 25 from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Younker's wing.

Groups participating in Community Day include: Allen Women's Health, Alzheimer's Association, Angel Food Ministry, Animal Welfare Services, Black Hawk County YMCA, Consumer Credit Counseling Service of NE Iowa, El Kahir Shrine, Eye of the Needle, Family & Children's Council, Foundation for Fighting Blindness, Hawkeye Valley Area Agency on Aging (HVAAA), hawk-I (Healthy and Well Kids in Iowa), Iowa SIDS Foundation, Northeast Iowa Center for Independent Living, Quakerdale, Social Security Office, Team in Training(should this be a comma instead of a hyphen?)-The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, The World's Window, Waterloo/Cedar Falls Celiac Support Group.

The new organization, Revolving Closet, is based out of Independence and will host a clothing and backpack drive at their booth space during the College Square Mall Spring Community Day.  All new and gently worn items collected will be donated to low-income high school students who meet free or reduced rates through the Buchanan County School District. 

The local division of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association will also display an impressive line-up of motorcycles and trikes.  Exhibiting Honda bike owners will discuss bike features, accessories and experiences, and remind all drivers to be more aware of motorcyclists especially during May, Motorcycle Awareness Month.
