Update: Flight student reportedly steals plane

Missouri (KWWL) - An airplane believed stolen from a Canadian flight school has landed in Missouri after being trailed by jet fighters from Wisconsin.

The plane crossed U.S. borders from Canada without appropriate clearance and the pilot ignored all commands.

U.S. Military aircraft started tracking the plane Monday afternoon after it flew over a Wisconsin airport. The Capitol in Madison was even evacuated.

The FBI says the pilot is 31-year-old Adam Leon, a native of Turkey who became a Canadian citizen last year.

The FAA says Leon landed the Cessna plane on a dirt road in southern Missouri, and then took off running. Authorities eventually caught him at a grocery store.
