Benefit Dance: Hudson students rally around teacher

Posted:

Whenever someone needs a little help, you can always count on Hudson students to pitch in for the cause. This time, Hudson students are rallying around first grade teacher, Carol Menefee.

Carol recently underwent surgery in her battle against breast cancer. The students know just how expensive cancer surgery can be and that's why they have decided to hold a special benefit dance for Carol. It's an effort to help defray the cost of the surgery and Carol's mounting medical expenses.

The Hudson Student Council is organizing the dance in Carol's honor for Friday, May 1, in the Hudson Middle School commons. It's a dance for seventh and eighth graders and Carol is planning to be in attendance. A number of special door prizes will be presented to lucky winners, with cookies, punch and pink cupcakes available.

Hudson school teachers, Wayne Haskovec and Diane Anderson, are supervising the students' efforts. Donations are being accepted in the Hudson Middle School office.

For more information about the Carol Menefee benefit dance, please contact Hudson teacher, Diane Anderson, at Hudson Middle School, 319-988-4137, or on the web at: DianeAnderson@hudson.k12.ia.us.
