CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -- Cedar Rapids Police charged a third teenager in connection with the assault that put a police officer in the hospital.

Police say 15 year-old Maurice Harden turned himself into police Tuesday on charges of robbery and interference with official acts causing serious injury.

The charges stem from the assault on Cedar Rapids Officer Tim Davis Sunday night as he responded to a report of a robbery. Sources tell KWWL Davis is in a coma at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. That follows three hours of surgery for a head injury.

Meanwhile, the man charged with putting him there appeared in court Tuesday morning. 17 year-old Jose Rockiett faces charges of robbery and willful injury. He faces up to 35 years in prison if convicted.

14 year-old Robert Watkins III, arrested Monday, now faces a stronger charge of second degree robbery charge in the incident.
