Dyersville selects community improvement ideas

DYERSVILLE (KWWL) - The Imagine 2020 Idea Selection Committee in Dyersville announced Tuesday their Imagine 2020 ideas have been narrowed down to 30 ideas.

This 15 member committee has been meeting since January to review the 569 ideas that were submitted.  After narrowing it down to 30 ideas, it is now time for the public to cast their vote on their favorite 5 projects that they would like to see implemented by the year 2020.  People can vote on Tuesday, April 21 at City Hall from 7 a.m. - 8 p.m.  If you are not a registered voter in the surrounding area, you can still vote, just bring a photo ID with you.  Anyone over the age of 18 can vote.  The results of the voting will brought back to the Idea Selection Committee and the release of the final 5 ideas will be announced shortly after.

"We believe in the importance of the Imagine 2020 Community Vision Process," said Karla Thompson, Executive Director of the Dyersville Area Chamber of Commerce.  "It is important to engage the communities and encourage the connection of people on how we can ensure that this is a great place for future generations."

The Imagine 2020 idea brainstorming process started in October, 2008 at a community kick off event at the Dyersville Commercial Club Park. For a full list of all the ideas, visit www.dyersvilleimagine2020.com.
