UI police close case into hospital bomb threat

IOWA CITY (AP)--University of Iowa public safety officials have closed an investigation into a bomb threat made last week at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

The hospital's emergency room was closed for about two hours on March 24. According to police, a member of a family visiting the hospital called 911 and said there was a bomb in the family's truck. Campus police searched the area and found no traces of explosives.

Public Safety Director Chuck Green says no charges will be filed. He says the matter appears to be more of a family dispute and it doesn't make sense to go any further.
