CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -- 17-year-old Jose Rockiett appeared in Linn County court this morning for his initial court appearance.

He was arrested on Monday and has been charged with first-degree robbery and willful injury of a peace officer.

His bond was set at $250,000.

Police arrested Rockiett in the assault of a Cedar Rapids officer Sunday night.

Earlier, police charged a 14-year-old boy with robbery and interference with official acts causing serious injury.

The two are charged in connection with the assault on Cedar Rapids Police Officer Tim Davis.  He was found unconcious after he and his partner confronted robbery suspects.

Officer Davis was flown to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.  His father says he underwent three hours of surgery for a head injury.

Police say Rockiett became a person of interest during the investigation.  He was found and taken into custody after following leads.

Rockiett's mother and brother were also arrested on charges of interferance with official acts after both came down to the Cedar Rapids Police Department.
