Braley statement on auto industry plan

WASHNGTON, D.C. (KWWL)

General Motors CEO Rick Wagoner is being forced out as part of the government's bailout of the auto industry.

Rep. Bruce Braley (D-Iowa) today released the following statement on President Obama's plan for the US auto industry:

"Keeping the US auto industry intact is important to protect American jobs and keep a bad recession from growing worse.  However, the ability of the government to keep extending assistance to the auto industry is not endless.  The domestic auto industry needs to get the message that they must change the way they do business in order to survive, or middle class families across the country are going to be the ones who are hurt."
