Governor Culver to meet with Microsoft officials

DES MOINES (KWWL)-- The governor is hoping to shake loose money for a Microsoft data center planned in the state.

In August 2008, Microsoft annouced plans for a $500 million data center in Wes Des Moines.

Because of the hard economic times, Microsoft, instead cut jobs and postponed the Iowa project in January.

At a meeting Monday, Governor Chet Culver hopes to persuade the computer giant to move forward with plans.

The project calls for 75 high paying tech jobs, with average salaries of $70,000.
