CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL)  -- Alliant sibsidiary, Interstate Power and Light Company, says customers can comment on its proposed rate increase via e-mail. The correct e-mal address is listed below.

Interstate Power and Light Company (IPL), an Alliant Energy company, recently distributed a ‘Notice of Proposed Rate Increase' to its Iowa retail electric customers. The Iowa Utilities Board (IUB)'s e-mail address in the ‘Notice of Proposed Rate Increase' was listed incorrectly. IPL electric customers may send rate case comments by e-mail to or submit comments online by visiting

"Our company encourages customers to stay informed about changes to their electric bills and participate in the rate case process," says Ryan Stensland, spokesperson for Alliant Energy. "We want to ensure that our customers are provided the opportunity to provide comments to the IUB regarding our proposed change in rates."
