Only two businesses cited in Johnson alcohol compliance checks

JOHNSON COUNTY (KWWL)  The Johnson County Sheriff's Department has announced the results of its recent alcohol complicance sweep. Here is the press release issued by Johnson County.

On the evening of March 19, 2009, the Johnson County Sheriff's Office conducted alcohol compliance checks on businesses in several communities and in rural Johnson County. The following businesses were checked and were found to be in compliance with State law and did not sell to a person/s under the legal age.


Johncys Liquor Store



Casey's General Store

The Mustang Market

American Legion

Solon Station




Dry Dock



Melsha's Bar

Shelton Grocery's


Casey's General Store


The Depot

North Liberty:

Johncy's Liquor Store


Corridor Convenience

The following businesses were found to be non compliant by selling to a person/s under the legal age and the employee who made the sell was charged with providing alcohol to  a person under the legal age as an employee of a licensed liquor/beer establishment. This Charge is a simple misdemeanor and the total scheduled fine, surcharges, and court cost in $715.00.

North liberty:
