Cedar Rapids Red Cross volunteers head to North Dakota

CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) --As flooding threatens, two local Grant Wood Area Chapter volunteers** are preparing to join the ranks of American Red Cross volunteers assisting the residents of North Dakota.

The volunteers departed today from the Cedar Rapids for Fargo, North Dakota. These volunteers are driving the emergency response vehicle (ERV) stationed at the Grant Wood Area Chapter to the area and provide mass care, such as feeding residents, once they arrive.

All American Red Cross disaster assistance is free, made possible by voluntary donations of time and money from the American people. You can help the victims of thousands of disasters across the country each year by making a financial gift to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund.

For more information on Red Cross disaster services, or to make a donation, call your local Chapter at (319) 393-3500 in Cedar Rapids, (319) 337-2119 in Iowa City or visit www.grantwood-redcross.org.
