4-H omelet breakfast fundraiser

WATERLOO (KWWL) -- Black Hawk County 4-H members made more than 1300 omelets Sunday morning at their 15th annual omelet breakfast.

The funds help support programs like camp scholarships, educational workshops, volunteer trainings and the county fair.

This is the only fundraiser 4-H has where all of the clubs in Black Hawk County join together.  It's not just about the fundraising, it's about the skills the kids learn during the breakfast.

"When you're young you start learning how to set tables and interact with people and become more involved in the community and as you get older you start making the omelets and its just a responsibility thing and its sort of fun," said 4-H Bankston Boosters Club Vice President Kim Bader.

The breakfast was prepared and served by about 125 kids to and 45 adults from the area.
