COUNCIL BLUFFS (AP)--Court appearance is set in Pottawattamie County for a sex offender accused of trying to have a woman, her three children and a sheriff's investigator killed.
Terry Leggio is to appear on Thursday on five counts each of attempted murder, conspiracy to commit murder and solicitation to commit murder.
In January, a jury found Leggio guilty of five counts of sexual abuse and one count of indecent contact with a child.
Authorities say they learned that while in jail, Leggio tried to hire another inmate to kill the two child victims involved in the sex abuse case, a sibling and their mother, as well as Leggio's former live-in girlfriend and an investigator.
