IC police looking for purse snatcher

IOWA CITY (KWWL) -- Iowa City police are asking for your help in finding a purse snatcher.

The Iowa City Police Department says it got a call around 1:30am Wednesday from a female victim who claimed that a male subject had stolen her purse.

A news release says the victim was walking near the intersection of Burlington and Linn St when a male subject ran up and snatched her purse from her hand. The person then ran east on Burlington and was last seen in the area of Burlington and VanBuren.

Police described the suspect as a college age black/male, 5'7, and 160 pounds. He was wearing a black hoodie, red shirt and jeans.

Anyone with information about this crime is asked to contact the Iowa City Police Department.
