UNI baseball ties record for runs in win over Indiana

WINTER HAVEN, FL (KWWL) -- If this is the UNI Panthers baseball team's final season, they are going out with a bang.

The Panthers scored 28 runs, tying a school record, in a football-like 28-17 win over Indiana on Monday. It's an impressive win since Indiana is picked to win the Big 10.

Indiana jumped to an early 3-0 lead after the 1st inning and lead 5-4 after 3 innings. That's when the Pather power exploded. UNI scored 5 runs in the 4th, 8 runs in the 5th, 4 runs in the 6th and 6 runs in the 7th to take a 27-15 lead. UNI's first 5 batters combined for 20 hits, 20 runs, and 17 RBI. At one point, Indiana even ran out of pitchers and had to resort to having position players take the mound.
