IC man beaten at gas station

IOWA CITY (KWWL) -- Iowa City police are looking for the person they say assaulted a man at a gas station.

Iowa City police tell KWWL they got a call of a man who had been assaulted and was unconscious around 11:00pm Thursday night at 1310 South Gilbert Street.

Emergency crews found a 21-year-old male who was conscious, but had blood covering his face and hands.  Police say the victim had multiple face and head injuries which appear to have been caused by a blunt object. The victim and a witness said the victim was standing outside the store when he was attacked. The only description of the assailant was a white male.

Paremedics took the victim to University of Iowa Hospitals with non life threatening injuries.
