
DES MOINES (KWWL)-- Iowa Lottery officials say players collected a record 150.5 million dollars in prizes during fiscal year 2010.
Sales numbers are also up. Recent numbers show a $265 million dollars during the last fiscal year. That amount is the highest sales total from lotto, instant-scratch and pull-tab games since the lottery began in 1985. 2006 is the only year to beat out that number, pulling in %339.5 million that year.
Profits going to support state causes totaled nearly $58 million. Iowa Lottery players have won more than $2.5 billion dollars in prizes since it started.
