(KWWL) -- Summer vacations are in full swing, and if camping or hiking is on the agenda, it's important to be prepared.
CDC experts remind us to be cautious of carbon monoxide poisoning. Be sure to keep camp stoves, generators, and fuel burning lanterns outside and away from tents and shelters.
They also say it's important to wear plenty of sunscreen and bug spray with at least 20 percent deet.
And bring your own bottled water on your camping trip, or be sure to disinfect campground water by boiling it for at least one minute.
