Sheriff's deputy car hit while helping stranded vehicle

Posted:

HARDIN COUNTY (KWWL) - A Hardin County sheriff's deputy escaped a potentially serious situation this morning.

The deputy was on the side of the road helping a stranded motorist when someone hit the squad car from behind, just before noon Monday.

The Iowa State Patrol is assisting at the accident. They tell us nobody was injured in the crash but urge people to slow down and watch for emergency vehicles on the roadways.
